An original POW escape map hand drawn by Lieutenant Jack Millett, an Australian who was escape artist and known as "Mapmaker of Colditz" by his fellow prisoners whilst at Oflag IVc during WW2.
Millett was captured by German forces during the fighting on Crete in May 1941 and was part of the largest escape attempt during the war from Oflag VII-B where 65 men escaped, but he was soon recaptured and sent to Colditz. He was famed for producing high-quality escape maps and essential documents for Allied prisoners attempting to escape.

I hope you are well. Thank you very much for requesting an estimate to collect, pack, and despatch your escape map. After assessing the dimensions and rough weight of the item, I would estimate this would cost around £131. Please note that could be subject to change once we have a more accurate assessment of the size.
Please note that we are able to offer compensation to cover for any loss or damage in transit - this is charged at 3% of the total value of the item(s) with a minimum charge of £10
Should this be acceptable to you, please respond to this email confirming that you authorise us proceed with collection. Furthermore, you will also need to give Wellers authorisation for us to collect on your behalf and copy us into the email – this helps eliminate any confusion on arrival at the auction house.
