A signed photograph of Hauptmann Reinhold Eggers who was Colditz Security Officer between 1940-1945, and an original letter written by Eggers to his wife Mrs Margarete Eggers which was sent from Torgau KGB Prison dated 29th January 1953, whilst held as a "Minor War Criminal" since the end of WW2. There is also an original photograph of Eggers and his wife in 1968.

Hauptmann Reinhold Eggers was being held as a prisoner by the Russians as he had been sentenced to death for having been Commandant of a camp holding Russian POWs who had fought for Germany. He was eventually sentenced to ten yeard hard labour and was ultimately released in 1955 but banned from East Germany.

The photograph of Eggers was taken in 1944 but this copy is not an original.
