Twelve mixed commemorative first day covers and postcards of Colditz Oflag IVc, some celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the castle including a nice "Liberation Colditz" hand drawn letter with suggested first day cover/stamp design and postcard from Lieutenant Colonel Lee Shaugnessy (USA 273rd Infantry Div).

This lot also features the signature of Lt-Col Sir Martin Gilliat on a limited edition silk first day cover of the "90th Birthday of Her Majesty the Queen Mother" who was the private secretary to Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother between 1956-1993.
